A fitted maxi usually comes with a list of conditions — the right underwear, the right shapewear, a mental note not to sit down in a particular way. Most of the anxiety isn't about the dress. It's about everything you had to wear under it to make it work.
This one is cut close through the body with enough weight in the fabric to hold its own line rather than clinging to whatever's beneath it, which means fewer layers to plan around. The waist is elasticated, so it follows you when you sit, eat and drive instead of pressing a seam into you for six hours. Long sleeves and a round neck keep it covered enough for an office, a christening or a dinner without a second thought.
The fabric doesn't crease, which sounds minor until you've sat through a two-hour journey and walked straight into the thing you travelled for.

Close-fitting by design — take your usual size for a skimming fit, and size up if you'd rather it followed you loosely. It's a true maxi, cut long: if you're under 5'4" expect it to sit at or past the ankle.
This particular style runs S–L only. It's cut slim, so if you're a UK 16 or above we'd rather tell you now than have you order and send it back.
